HEADWINDS: SMALL BUSINESS, HIGH CONSEQUENCE

Logan Tyler is a lifelong Ouray resident who recently planted his roots deeper when he opened the town’s first climbing gym, Basecamp Boulder. With his business now shut down for almost as long as it was open, Logan has been working on the installation of a Via Ferrata system and helping friends on projects, replacing lost revenue, but also further demonstrating his role in building this community.

When he's not busy working to secure a stronger future for Ouray, Logan is often found at a local crag with his close friend Aaron Livingston. Aaron was on a climbing trip in Mexico when the United States went into lockdown. On that trip, he lost his best friend and climbing partner to an accident on a big wall. Upon his return to the US, Aaron entered two weeks of quarantine, forced to deal with this tragedy in isolation. Now that he’s returned to Ouray, he's able to spend time in the mountains with friends like Logan.

Communities reliant on outdoor recreation can use your help. Pre-booking a trip for the future or purchasing gift cards are great ways to support small towns through this pandemic.
